When in Doubt, Just Love

Last Wednesday, I pushed our living room sofa out of position, exposing a stretch of plain duck-egg blue wall. I placed a chair and a small table where the sofa had been. On top of the table, I stacked six encyclopaedias. And on top of those thick books, I balanced my laptop which was attached to an external mic and webcam. Then I guarded everything from inquisitive cats and dogs until the clock hands reached 3.30 pm.

Then with my heart beating a bit faster than normal, I joined a pre-arranged Zoom call, and saw Daniel Prince onscreen. Then for the next hour, Daniel asked me some questions about unschooling and I answered them. And before I knew it, it was all over. My interview for the 2020 Homeschooling Global Summit was recorded!

The 2020 Homeschooling Global Summit is an online event which runs from June 29 – July 8. It’s going to be a huge and exciting gathering of homeschooling and alternate education advocates. Sir Ken Robinson, Peter Gray, Lainie Liberti and Pat Farenga are once again keynote speakers. Pam Laricchia is returning as well. And somehow I was invited to speak again too!

In this week’s podcast, I’m talking about my Homeschooling Global Summit interview which has inspired me to experiment with some Zoom meetups with members of my unschooling community. I’m also discussing love, and sharing a couple of love stories, one from my book, Radical Unschool Love, and one from my blog.
