Podcasting Breaks and Unschooling Books

21 July 2017

This is a very short blog post. All I want to say is:

I’m taking a short podcasting break while I work on my unschooling book.

If you’d like to hear more about Podcasting Breaks and Unschooling Books, you could listen to this week’s very short podcast, episode 103.

I hope you’ll watch out for a regular full-length podcast episode in a few weeks’ time!

Image: I didn’t record a podcast episode last week because we were away from home. Andy, Gemma-Rose and I took a trip to see my son Callum. When we returned home, Quinn came with us. Quinn is our Great Dane X Shar Pei puppy. I took this photo last week when she was six weeks old. I wonder how much she will have grown by the time I return to podcasting. A lot, I suspect. She’s growing very fast and is going to be a very big dog!

Do you ever feel you are trying to do too much? Have you ever taken a break from your usual activities so that you can focus on one big project? And when I finish this unschooling book, will you be interested in reading it?

  1. Thank you, Sue, for letting us know of your break from podcasting while you work on your new book. I agree that it’s a great idea to publish a few ‘teaser’ blogposts about your book – I can’t wait to read it!

I regularly feel overwhelmed with all the things I’d like to do but don’t seem to have time for, but I keep handing it back to the Lord and do what I can each day, and I slowly achieve my goals. 🙂

    • Alison,

It’s good to hear you’d like to read my book when it’s finished. I shall keep working on it!

Oh yes, there are times when we can’t do all we’d like. Sometimes accepting that is hard. ‘I keep handing it back to the Lord and do what I can each day, and I slowly achieve my goals.’ I like that very much. That’s very helpful. Thank you for sharing!

  2. How exciting! Sometimes when I am struggling to finish something a new routine is exactly what I need. I’ve heard it really helps some people to have a certain time of day where they work on their book for a certain length of time(like an hour). I’m sure your book will be a great resource to many people.

    • Venisa,

Working on my book at a regular time each day is an excellent suggestion. Yes, even if I only work for an hour a day I will make some progress. Hours add up very quickly.

Sometimes writing can seem so hard. The pleasure disappears when I feel overwhelmed by the huge task I have taken on. However, you are quite right. Writing a book is indeed exciting. I shall remember that. It certainly will feel good when I’ve finished the book. Thank you for your encouraging words!
