I‘ve experienced many dark days over the last couple of years. There have been lots of times when I’ve wanted to run away, but that hasn’t always been possible. Where can one go when no one is allowed to leave home? I’ve had to find another way to survive the strange times we’re living in.
I decided to search for the beauty that I was sure was still in our world. Each day, I looked for delights. Many times, I captured what I found with my camera.
I’m talking about delights in my latest vlog which I filmed at our local lake. I share some of my recent delights, and I challenge you to go searching for some of your own.
Maybe the state of the world is getting you down too. Or maybe you’re overtired looking after your families. Could you have other difficulties such as health problems that you’re trying to deal with? Whatever our situations, I’m sure there are delights all around us waiting to be discovered. If we search for them, perhaps they’ll give us hope. Maybe they will help lift our spirits.
So, shall we watch out for delights or, as Kate from the blog Pocketfuls of Acorns said, shall we go Chasing Awe!
Some Extra Things

And then why not stop by and share your delights in a comment?
Photos
I took these photos while I was at the lake. If you look closely, in the first photo, you might see the mist rising off the water. Can you see the spiders’ webs in the second one?
Update: I expanded this post and included it, with 75 other challenges, in my book, The Unschool Challenge:
Challenge 33: Search for Delights

Beautiful photos Sue, it’s a really lovely time of year with the evenings and mornings getting cooler. I’ve noticed some of our leaves starting to turn too. Autumn is my favourite time. It’s one of my delights.
A recent delight is having my daughter’s horse return from the trainer and seeing the progress made. Watching my daughter ride her confidently is a real delight!
Hi Kelly!
It’s so good to connect with you! Thank you so much for your kind feedback about my photos. Oh yes, this is a beautiful time of year. I can’t wait to photograph the autumn colours which are already appearing. I’m smiling thinking about your daughter and her horse. It’s a delight to share other people’s delights, isn’t it?
Although I’m not a weaver, I still love receiving your email newsletters. The other day, I watched a YouTube video about your weaving school changes just so I could enjoy seeing your face!
I hope all is well with you and your family. God bless!
