Be Brave

19 February 2021

Yesterday, my Youtube subscribers must have fallen over backwards with surprise: I published a new video! It had been a very long time since my last one.

In this vlog, I’m sharing a story about red hair, shampoo, and being brave enough to do the things we want to do before time runs out.

I hope you’ll watch!

  1. Your hair looks wonderful! I liked how you talked about getting older. I wonder myself, what is the secret of aging well? Or how could I help myself along the way. If you would like to share – what has helped you and what do you recommend?

    • Luana,

Ageing is hard! Usually, the wrinkles and sagging skin don’t bother me because I can’t see them. But then when I see a photo or a video of myself, I get a shock. Is that really me? My inside and outside don’t seem to match! In one way, I don’t mind being as old as I am. If I were younger, I wouldn’t have the family I’ve got. I love the life I’m living right now. I’ve learnt a lot along the way. But in another way, I’m concerned about being older because I can feel time running out. Have I made the most of my life so far? Am I becoming the person I was created to be?

I keep seeing videos for older women in my YouTube feed. Loads of advice for preventing crepey skin and other ageing problems. Although it’s tempting to believe that all we need to cope with ageing is a good beauty routine, I think there’s more to it than that. I’m not sure I’ve worked everything out, but maybe focusing on the positives helps. I’m surrounded by people who love and value me. I’m fit and healthy. I have work to do that I enjoy. Occasionally, I slip up and start worrying about my appearance, and then I know I’ve watched too many YouTube videos. It’s time to move on and do something better with my time. Like make a video of my own!

Of course, the real secret of dealing with ageing is God. What would we do without our faith?

      • Thank you for your answer, Sue! I think you should write or vlog about aging well, because you are doing so great! Personally, I don`t care about wrinkles and such, but I would like to learn more about how to be fit and healthy and have this kind of energy that you have 🙂 You are really an inspiration!
Yes, our faith is carrying us through all challenges, small and big.

Also, I think it`s worth 10 minutes of your time to properly try out that shampoo and tell us 🙂 , I would like to know if it works. It is so fun to try out something new and brave with our children.

        Lots of greetings!

        • Luana,

I like your suggestion about writing or talking about ageing. Thank you! And yes, I should follow the shampoo instructions properly and see if it makes a difference.

I have big news: I’ve finished my novel!! It’s called The Angels of Wallaby Way. There are 25 stories in the book. I’ll publish it when Charlotte has finished the illustrations. If you’d like read a PDF version, I’d love to send you one. Please let me know! xxx

          • CONGRATULATIONS!!! So good!!!
Thank you so much for your offer! Yes, I would love to read your new book as PDF and see what happens next to Angels family. So exciting to be able to read it even before it is published. I`ve never had a chance like that before.
And I hope this book will also be available over amazon, so we can enjoy it as a family read-aloud.

            • Luana,

I’m so pleased you’d like to read The Angels of Wallaby Way. I’ll send you a copy very soon. Oh yes, we’ll be publishing the book on Amazon. My daughter Charlotte is working hard, drawing the illustrations! I hope all is well with you and your family. xxx
